The group has signed a contract with Cevital, the largest private conglomerate in the African country, for the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in the industrial complex of the SUCRE Production Unitlocated in port of Béjaïa.
This strategic agreement consolidates Lantania's presence in the algerian market and underscores the confidence of local companies in its experience and technological capabilities. The new facility, expected to be operational in the last quarter of 2025, will incorporate cutting-edge technology, including a moving bed biological reactor (MBBR) and a secondary dissolved air flotation (DAF) system, ensuring high-quality treatment with a capacity of 75 cubic meters per hour.
Cevital, an agri-food giant with a significant presence in Africa and with 26 subsidiaries spread across three continents, relies on Lantania's water division for this crucial project. This contract adds to a series of projects that Lantania has completed in Algeria in recent years, including agreements with companies such as Falait, Faderco, and General Emballage in 2024, and Taiba Food, IDC Bona, and Dulcesol in 2023.
The Spanish company has also announced its participation in the 20th edition of SIEE Pollutec, a key event for water and environmental professionals in Africa, to be held in Algiers from May 18 to 20, 2025. This presence underscores Lantania's commitment to developing sustainable solutions in the region.
