An event that returns to Spain

More than 300 presidents of leading companies and business families from Ibero-America and Spain, and institutional leaders from across the Ibero-American Community will focus on business relations between Latin America and the European Union.

The Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America (CEAPI) will celebrate, from May 30 to June 1 in Madrid, the sixth edition of its business congress, under the title Spain, the bridge of Ibero-America and Europe. The time is now: the great opportunity. An event in which more than 300 presidents of leading companies and business families from Latin America and Spain, and institutional leaders from across the Ibero-American Community will focus on business relationships between Latin America and the European Union, on the occasion of the Spanish Presidency of the EU during the second half of 2023.

 

The president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, whose Executive defends in Europe the promotion of a strategic alliance between both blocks, will close a meeting in which the current economic, commercial, business and investment situation in the region will be analyzed.

 

After the success of the fifth edition of the congress, held in Dominican Republic and the first in the history of the association held in Latin America, this meeting of business leaders returns to Spain. The event, in the words of the president of CEAPI, Núria Vilanova, “seeks to provide certainty in this time of global uncertainty, and to provide support from the private sector to the forging of a stronger, long-term bond between Europe and Latin America.” “At CEAPI we consider that public-private collaboration is the key to positioning the Ibero-American region as a fundamental actor in the new geopolitical panorama,” according to Vilanova.

 

The president of CEAPI, Núria Vilanova, highlights that the event, which will bring together more than 300 businessmen from Latin America and Spain, will debate “how to provide certainty in this time of global uncertainty and how to give greater support from the private sector to the efforts to create a strategic Europe-Latin America relationship

 

El VI Business Congress, that will be developed in the Reina Sofía Museum Auditorium in Madrid, will bring together the largest number of leading business actors and decision-makers from Latam and Spain and many of the most influential institutional positions in the Ibero-American Community, and will be based on plenary conferences and parallel work sessions.

The panels will examine the future scenarios facing Latin America, incorporating debate topics such as relations EU-Latin America, the importance of closing Latam's gap in infrastructure; the relationship between raw materials and safety; the future of the family business; the energy transition, the idea that inequality is not profitable and investment as a driver of change.

 

The Congress will also reflect on business and politics; football and social impact, innovation and AI. Preceded by an opening dinner on the night of May 30 at the Teatro Real, the days of May 31 and June 1 will be the main days of this Congress, in which the debate tables will take place. In addition, on the first of these days the official dinner will be held in Matadero, where the Women, Business and Leadership Recognition will be granted. During the afternoon of June 1, Casa de América will host the Women, Business and Leadership in Ibero-America Conference. Also within the framework of the Congress, from June 2 to 4, attendees will be able to enjoy a trip to Extremadura and a visit to Espacio SOLO, one of the most important private art collections in Spain.
