The prestigious luxury brand The Melia Collection, part of Meliá Hotels International, announced its imminent arrival in Peru with the opening of a high-end boutique hotel. The new establishment will be located in the heart of Lima's historic center, reinforcing the company's strategy to expand its luxury offerings in key tourist destinations worldwide.
The project, considered one of the company's most emblematic in the region, will be developed in two phases. The first is scheduled to open in July 2026, with 61 rooms, and the second phase in July 2027, with a total of 107 rooms.
Located a few meters from the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Lima and the Government Palace, the new The Meliá Collection Lima will be built on the historic House of the Pile, a place that has been a center of intellectual meetings, headquarters of the Thalia Club and even housed the beginnings of the newspaper The Trade In 1839, the restoration of the site, led by conservator Cirilo Bernui Tafur, seeks to preserve its valuable cultural heritage.
With this addition, Meliá Hotels International consolidates its presence in Peru, where it already operates the Meliá Lima and the INNSiDE Miraflores.
The Meliá Collection brand is distinguished by bringing together hotels with exceptional cultural heritage and unique narratives. Therefore, the hotel in Lima will offer its own cultural program that will allow guests to connect with the city's artistic, culinary, and heritage riches from a local and authentic perspective.

The company partnered with the Peruvian company Hoteles Bera, made up of the families Bernui-Tarazona and Ramos-Bernui, for this project.
The initiative has the support of PROMPERU, the Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission. Daniel Córdova, Director of Business Investment Promotion for the organization, celebrated the arrival of a brand of excellence like The Meliá Collection, highlighting the enormous potential of Lima's Historic Center.
