The United States Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AmChamSpain) and Europa Press successfully celebrated the second edition of 'global trends', an international event that brought together more than 350 top representatives of the Spanish business ecosystem to analyze the major global trends impacting the future of Spain.
Under the motto «Roadmap to attract investment, talent and innovation in a fragmented worldThe day's discussions focused on the main challenges and opportunities facing Spain in the current geopolitical context. Among the key challenges highlighted were declining productivity, the demographic challenge, and high public debt.
However, the speakers also agreed to point out the huge potential of SpainThanks to its access to large markets, the capacity of your business leadership, its leadership in strategic sectors such as healthcare and its suitability to become a global green energy hub.
To take advantage of this potential, experts agreed on the importance of boost talent attraction and retention, encourage transatlantic investments, bet on the development of the Artificial Intelligence, data management and storage, and strengthening competitiveness in Europe after the last EU elections.
During more than a dozen presentations and round tables, in which more than 50 speakers participated, Spain's main challenges in the current geopolitical context were examined, as well as its strengths.
'Global Trends 2024' established itself as a leading forum for business dialogue, bringing together leaders from companies such as Amazon Web Services, Amgen, Bristol Myers Squibb, Coca-Cola, Cushman & Wakefield, Delta, FTI Consulting, Gilead Sciences, Google, Iron Mountain, Nippon Gases, Pfizer, Banco Santander, SAS, Salesforce and Uber.
Jaime Malet, president of AmChamSpain He stated: "Spain has enormous potential to become a global leader in key sectors such as green energy. To achieve this, it is essential to have a stable and attractive regulatory framework for investment, as well as a highly qualified talent ecosystem."
