This figure is a result of the Business Support Program for Women, launched by the Chambers of Commerce and the Women's Institute. During the first six months of the year, more than 700 women became entrepreneurs. The businesses created have generated 823 new jobs. The project, whose main objective is to promote self-employment among women, has also provided guidance to 5.219 female entrepreneurs.
These programs offer information and guidance on the various instruments available for business support, technical and financial assistance, and procedures for starting a business.
