The event was attended by prominent officials, including the Mayor of San Fernando, Patricia Cavada; the Mayor of Puerto Real, Aurora Salvador; the Deputy Government Delegate in Cádiz, Blanca Flores; and the Chief of the Cádiz Arsenal (ALARDIZ), Vice Admiral Rubén Rodríguez Peña.
Alberto Cervantes, Director of Business for Corvettes and Maritime Action Vessels at Navantia, welcomed those present, highlighting the importance of this project and remembering his predecessor, José Antonio Rodríguez Poch.
The representative of the Royal Moroccan Navy, the captain of the main ship, Mohammed El Fadili, highlighted the importance of the project to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Spain, as well as the ship's advanced technology.
Ricardo Domínguez, president of Navantia, emphasized the collaboration between the two countries and thanked Navantia employees and the collaborating industry for their efforts.
After the speeches, Cervantes and El Fadili activated the mechanism that slid the patrol boat into the sea.
The patrol boat, the 565th built by Navantia San Fernando, is 87 meters long and 13 meters wide, with a capacity for 60 people. Its construction generated more than one million hours of work and around 1.100 jobs over three years.
The agreement includes technical and logistical support and training for Royal Moroccan Navy personnel. The patrol vessel's design guarantees long maritime deployments with low operating costs.
