A significant step toward energy sustainability has been taken in the Brazilian capital. Neoenergia, Iberdrola's leading subsidiary in Brazil, has formalized a collaboration agreement with the Federal Government to supply 100% renewable energy to the iconic city. The initiative, coordinated through the Civil House, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) and the Presidency of the Republic, marks the start of the installation of a modern solar photovoltaic plant on the palace grounds this month. Since March 2021, Neoenergia has been at the forefront of implementing strategies to minimize the environmental impact of various government buildings, actively promoting the efficient and sustainable use of energy. Renowned institutions such as the Federal Police, the Air Force, the Army, the prestigious University of Brasilia and the Federal Supreme Court already benefit from renewable energy generation systems installed by the company.
Neoenergia and the Federal Government's vision extends beyond the Alvorada Palace. Plans have been announced to establish new strategic alliances throughout 2025, including the incorporation of the National Council of Justice to the list of institutions that will adopt renewable energy.
