The Spanish Business Organization for Logistics and Transport ( UNO ) has urged the Government of Aragon to expedite the expansion of the Aragon Logistics Platform (Plaza) , which is already 95% occupied. The aim is to provide it with a larger area so that it continues to be a "driving force for the region and a magnet for investment and businesses."

The president of UNO, Francisco Aranda , emphasized that the Plaza expansion is "essential" to "boost the region as a hub for investment and businesses." He applauded the project to expand the space by 2,4 million square meters but urged its immediate implementation to "attract international investment seeking readily available logistics space."

Aranda emphasized that logistics is "an undeniable economic engine in Aragon ," where it already represents 5,5% of GDP and employs more than 35.000 people. This position is due, among other reasons, to public logistics platforms like Plaza.

The president of UNO emphasized that Aragon, with Zaragoza at its forefront, has the potential to consolidate itself as a leading European logistics hub. To achieve this, it is necessary to maintain the current course and avoid complacency.

Aranda noted that an industrial relocation process is underway, aimed at guaranteeing supply and reducing uncertainty. Spain has the potential to position itself within this process, but it needs the central government to "promote our potential to attract that investment."

The mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca , has stated that the city has "great potential for logistics." She highlighted the "attractive tax policy," the availability of land and renewable energy at affordable prices, legal certainty, the commitment to innovation, and the attraction of young talent.

The CEO of the ZLC, Susana Val , has stated that "the current context is favorable for investment in our region." She emphasized the importance of talent and training, especially given the anticipated demand for professionals in the technology and logistics sectors.

Val has concluded that it is essential to "encourage and promote vocations among young people towards the professions of the future," while supporting existing professionals to acquire the necessary new skills.
