In an effort to recover the dynamism of the logistics sector in Valencia, Francis Aranda, President of ONE Logistics, he met with Vicente Martínez, Minister of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory, and Manuel Rios, Director General of Transport and Logistics. During this institutional meeting, Aranda highlighted the challenges facing the sector following the recent floods caused by the DANA.
Aranda urged the Valencian generalitat to implement a plan to free up logistics land immediately. According to him, “Many companies in the sector are already looking for new locations for their facilities, with the aim of establishing themselves in areas that are not susceptible to further flooding. The available land available at present is very scarce, which makes the price unaffordable”.
The employers' association also denounced the current conditions of the industrial estates near the areas affected by the DANA. These continue to present impassable areas due to the accumulated mud and dirt. In this regard, Aranda emphasized: “It is necessary to improve access to industrial areas, in order to avoid the queues that form every day at the entrance and exit of the industrial estates”.
Despite the priority focus on people and homes affected by the natural disaster, Aranda recalled that “Without business activity there is no life in the municipalities”, thus reaffirming its commitment to a comprehensive economic recovery.
Finally, Aranda praised the efforts of the logistics sector during this crisis: “The great work carried out has guaranteed supplies at all times and contributed with its generous and tireless support to the improvement of the affected areas”With these statements, UNO seeks not only to resume its previous activity but also to consolidate its position as a key economic driver in the region.
