Operators from 21 countries will hold more than 700 meetings at the XIII International Meeting of the Auxiliary Industry of Almería

Almería is the second exporting province of Andalusia

A total of 47 Andalusian firms, 31 of them from Almería, meet with 23 foreign operators in an action organized by the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior.

A total of 23 international operators from 21 countries and 47 Andalusian companies They participate from this Tuesday, April 9 and until Thursday, April 11, in the 'XIII International Meeting of the Agricultural Support Industry', Organized by the Ministry of the Presidency, Public Administration and Interior, through Extenda-Andalusian Foreign Promotion Agency, and which is held at the headquarters of the Extenda office in Almería.

 

The meeting, which will hold more than 700 meetings of B2B business previously agreed between the Andalusian and foreign companies, aims to publicize the Andalusian offer of the agricultural auxiliary industry to international agents and enhance business opportunities for companies in the selected markets.

 

The event was chaired by the Government delegate in Almería, Maribel Sanchez, which was accompanied by the CEO of Extenda, Vanessa Bernad. Likewise, the delegate highlighted that "this International meeting includes bilateral meetings between the guests and Andalusian companies and visits to research centers and private companies." Sánchez has indicated that in total 47 Andalusian companies participate, 2 more than in 2018, of which 31 are from Almeria. At the same time he referred to the total of 23 international operators of 21 countries that meet in this international meeting in which 700 planned business interviews are expected to be held. The delegate stated that “during 2018 the Andalusian exports of the agricultural auxiliary industry achieved a historical record with 895 million euros, which is the best figure achieved since data registration began, which means 5,7% more compared to the previous year.

 

Almeria is second exporting province of Andalusia, with 20,2% of the total, after Seville with, 180 million in 2018, a historical record in sales, and a year in which exports grew by 3,6% over 2017, and 249% since 2009, more than tripling its data in the last decade.

Regarding the number of Andalusian companies in the agricultural auxiliary industry participating in Extenda actions last year, the province of Seville in first place with 74 companies (33% of the total), followed by Almeria with 58 (25,8%).

 

Among the main countries of interest for Andalusian companies, among which the Latin American market stands out, are in this order: Algeria, Morocco, Peru, Ecuador, United Arab Emirates, Chile, Kazakhstan, United States and Mexico.

 

Furthermore, for 2019 Extenda has programmed new actions, such as those already carried out at the beginning of the year (direct missions to India and Peru), which range from attending fairs such as Siam Meknes, Expoagro Guanajuato, Agrofuturo Colombia; to new encounters like the XIII International Meeting of the Auxiliary Industry of the Olive Grove in Expoliva; or trade missions like the one that will be organized in June to Uzbekistan.

 

On the other hand, the online strategy is maintained supported by the web portal 'Agritech Andalusia' by Extenda Plus, in which more than fifty companies already participate.

 

 

The 23 international operators participating in the meeting have been selected by the Extenda Foreign Network and by ICEX commercial offices for their relevance from among the main importers, distributors, prescribers and agricultural holdings of 21 of the markets of greatest interest for this sector in the world

 

 

Strategic markets

 

Two operators of United Arab Emirates and two others from Chile, and with a representative each are the markets of Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Angola, Senegal, USA, Canada, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey, South Korea and Italy.

Likewise, five of Seville (MSC Fabricas Agrícolas, Chemicrop España, Irconfort and Compañía Maquinaria 93 and AGQ Labs), three Malaga (Nutritional Agrolaboratories, Fercampo and Seragro Integral); two of Cordoba (Silos Córdoba and Talleres López Garrido), four of Granada (Domca, Herogra Especiales, JFJ Maquinaria y Montajes y Plásticas Alber) and two of Jaen (Cotexa Alcalaina and Rabita Agrotextil). The organization of XIII International Meeting of the Auxiliary Industry of Agriculture by extend will be co-financed with funds from the European Union the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2014-2020, endowed with a community contribution of 80%.

 

International agenda

 

The event will continue until next Wednesday, April 10, with more meetings, and scheduled visits to companies where international operators will be able to learn first-hand about the reality of the sector, its products and its services.

 

Specifically, today's agenda includes, in addition to the interviews, a visit to the Tecnova Technology Center and Experimental Center, which has the latest developments in agriculture under plastic and includes laboratories, pilot plants, a farm and tasting rooms on a twelve-hectare farm. In addition, the international delegation will visit the headquarters of the Hispatec Group, a firm that has developed both services and digital technology and big data for the Spanish agri-food sector since 1986.

 

In addition, on Thursday, April 11, the headquarters of three other Almeria firms based in Pulpí, New Growing System, a company specialized in hydroponic systems; Gogarsa, a firm specialized in greenhouses, climate control, irrigation systems and machinery; and Primaflor, a company dedicated to the cultivation, production, marketing and distribution of ready-to-eat fruit and vegetable products.

 

This sector shows great diversification with destinations on four continents among its top ten markets, being Portugal the leader with 133 million and an increase of 6,4%; followed by France, with 110 million and an increase of 12,9%; and Morocco, with 76 million and a growth of 5%. In fourth place is Russia, with 53 million and an increase of 39%; followed by Italy, with 48 million and an improvement of 6,2%.
