President of State Ports, Salvador de la Encina, has met with representatives of the Joint venture KPMG/Innsomnia, project winner Ports 4.0, to oversee the next steps in the launch of this ambitious and innovative plan aimed at enhancing and facilitating the transition of the logistics-port sector towards the 'smart portss' of the 4.0 economy.
Cándido Pérez, Luis Buzzi, Natán Díaz and Joaquim Martínez, directors of the UTEThey outlined the planned medium-term timeline and the objectives to be met, with the dissemination phase of the program being the starting gun to capture the interest of the country's emerging business network or 'startups'.
This is the first major milestone in a multi-year projection to provide the port community with innovative products and services, promoting the testing and practical application of innovation strategies, a process that should culminate in the 'smart ports' concept that will put the Spanish general interest port system at the forefront of a new global logistics model.
El Ports 4.0 project that drives State Ports is, along with Strategic Framework, one of the references that in the coming years will modernize the entire Spanish port system with the active participation of its agents.
