SODERCAN promotes the internationalization of Cantabrian companies with an injection of 1,8 million euros

With a budget of 1,8 million euros, this initiative seeks to stimulate the commercial promotion and expansion of Cantabrian products and services in foreign markets, thus consolidating the business fabric and promoting economic growth.

In an effort to boost the local economy and increase the competitiveness of its companies, SODERCAN has launched a call for grants that will allow Cantabrian companies to access funds of up to 50.000 euros. The main objective of these grants is to support the plans of commercial promotion, facilitating the prospecting of new markets and the establishment of contacts with international customers, suppliers and partners.

Eduardo ArastiThe Minister of Industry and President of SODERCAN, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating: “The internationalization of the business sector is one of the fundamental pillars for improving our competitiveness and achieving sustainable economic growth.” Arasti also highlighted that this aid is part of the Cantabria Internationalization Plan 2025-2028, a government strategy that seeks to significantly increase sales of Cantabrian products abroad.

"Our goal is for Cantabrian companies to have more and better business opportunities internationally," Arasti added.

The call, published in the Official Gazette of Cantabria, establishes a two-month period for the submission of applications, which must be made electronically through the SODERCAN Aid Manager. The eligible actions must have been carried out between October 11, 2024 and October 10, 2025.

The grants will cover up to 70% of the eligible budget, with a minimum of 3.000 euros per project. Companies may submit a single application, which may include various actions related to international promotion, such as:

Participation in fairs, conferences and business events outside Cantabria.
Trade visits and international missions.
Prospecting expenses and specialized training in foreign trade.
Approvals and trademark registration for products manufactured in Cantabria.

SODERCAN hopes that this initiative will boost the presence of Cantabrian companies in the global market, generating new business opportunities and strengthening the regional economy.
