Spain in the global investor's sights

The 16th edition of the forum is being held at a time of remarkable economic strength for Spain, which is positioned as one of the engines of the European UnionThis strength is supported by dynamic domestic demand, a highly competitive foreign sector and a stock market that has broke profitability and stock price records.

This situation has boosted the confidence of international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which has raised its growth forecast for Spain. From 2,5% to 2,9%a forecast that is also backed by the main agencies of rating.

Benito BercerueloThe President of the SID highlighted Spain's relevance on the international stage: “Spain maintains its leading role on the international investment map and continues to generate confidence, beyond the political situation, since it will be, among the major European economies, the main engine of growth in 2025 and 2026, according to the forecasts of the main national and international economic organizations.”

Despite this optimism, Berceruelo also pointed out the remaining challenges: “Our stock market is having a spectacular year, and investors are seeing very satisfactory results. However, we face important challenges such as the need to delve deeper into structural reforms, the approval of the General State Budget, and issues such as access to housing or the serious problem of absenteeism and low productivitywhich needs to be addressed to maintain investor interest.”
