The Director General of Rural Development, Innovation and Agri-Food Training, Isabel Bombal, has underlined the commitment of the Government of Spain to high-impact technological innovations in the agri-food chain, during the celebration of the tenth anniversary of Alibetopias, an event organized by the Federation of Food and Beverage Industries (FIAB) and the technological platform Food for Life Spain.
Bombal stressed that this meeting brings together professionals from the sector focused on innovation and entrepreneurship, emphasizing the development of initiatives promoted by emerging companies in the agri-food sector. In his speech, he mentioned the initiatives that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is implementing to support these companies, including acceleration programs, mentoring and participatory credits, in order to promote their growth and technological development in areas such as agricultural and food technology.
In addition, reference was made to the recent calls for aid for transformative projects in the agri-food sector and support for the fishing and aquaculture industry, within the framework of PERTE Agri-FoodIsabel Bombal said: “Entrepreneurship, innovation and knowledge transfer act as a lever for change to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of the agri-food sector.”
During the event, awards were also presented. ingenuity y Outgenia Startup 2024, in collaboration with the Ministry, to highlight the role of emerging companies in the value chain of the agri-food sector, both nationally and internationally.
