Spain crushes Poland and moves closer to the Futsal World Cup in the Philippines

 

The match started at a dizzying pace, and just a few minutes had passed when Peque opened the scoring, the result of an excellent combination with Mayte and Irene CórdobaThe early goal was a reflection of the intensity with which Spain came onto the pitch, aware of the importance of not giving their opponent any room to maneuver.

The Spanish team maintained control of the ball and barely allowed any dangerous approaches from Poland. The defense was solid and Elena's goal remained untouched. The game was finally broken in the eighth minute, with two goals almost consecutively from Laura CordobaThe first, taking advantage of a rebound after Antía hit the post, and the second, finishing off a quick counterattack after recovering the ball.

 

"It was a very adrenaline-pumping moment. I saw the rebound and didn't hesitate to shoot. For the second goal, I managed to steal the ball and, luckily, I was able to finish well," explained Laura Córdoba.

 

With the score at 0-3, Poland attempted to react by using a five-man strategy, which allowed them to have more possession but without creating any real danger. Elena, the Spanish goalkeeper, was confident in her interventions. Before halftime, Antía scored Spain's fourth goal with a precise free kick.

 

In the second half, the pace of the match slowed, but Spain continued to dominate. Despite having several opportunities to extend their lead, the fifth goal didn't come until the final minutes, when Ale of Peace scored with a shot from a difficult angle. Mayte and Irene Córdoba also had clear chances, but their shots hit the post and were saved, respectively.

 

"The goal was to win and get closer to the World Cup, and we've achieved that. Now we have to wait for the result of the France match and prepare for the next game," commented Ale de Paz.
