Spain deploys its largest-ever delegation to the EYOF Skopje 2025

 

Spain will make a historic presence in this edition, sending a total of 112 athletes, with a perfect parity of 56 boys and 56 girls. This figure represents the largest national delegation ever sent to a EYOF, surpassed only by the 2001 Murcia edition, where 114 athletes participated.

 

The Spanish delegation will compete in fourteen of the fifteen sports on the festival program, showcasing the versatility and high level of its promising young athletes. The disciplines in which Spain will be represented include athletics, 3x3 basketball, basketball, handball, cycling, mountain biking, gymnastics, judo, swimming, canoeing, taekwondo, table tennis, and shooting. The only sport in which Spain will not participate is volleyball.

 

El EYOF 2025 will bring together more than 4.000 athletes aged 14 to 18 from 48 countries. This continental event, organized by the European Olympic Committees and sponsored by the International Olympic Committee, is not only a platform for high-level competition, but also a crucial space for fostering European integration among young people.

 

For more than three decades, the European Youth Olympic Festival It has served as an essential springboard for young athletes, providing them with the necessary experience for future world-class competitions. The YEFO actively promotes healthy lifestyles and the values ​​inherent in Olympism, offering these emerging talents an international showcase for their skills and potential.

 

In the previous edition, held in Maribor, SloveniaThe Spanish delegation collected a total of 17 medals, including four gold, six silver, and seven bronze. The expectation now is whether the powerful Skopje 4 delegation will be able to surpass this remarkable performance and further consolidate the success of Spanish youth sports on the European stage.
