Spanish ham conquers Miami with the "Slices of Happiness" campaign at the Americas Food & Beverage Show

This initiative seeks to promote knowledge and consumption of one of the star products of Spanish gastronomy in United States, the main non-European importer of Spanish ham, with exports exceeding 34 million euros in 2023.

During the event, attendees enjoyed cutting workshops and sensory tastings of Iberian ham and white pork, showing how this product, beyond its flavour and quality, generates happiness. Jesús Pérez, deputy director of ASICIHe highlighted the importance of this type of action for the sector: "The development of joint actions in a market like the North American one is necessary to help companies make their way in a country as important as the United States, a potential market of more than 330 million people."

Spain exported more than 34 million euros worth of hams and shoulders to the United States in 2023, both Iberian and from white-coated pigs

Alberto Herranz, CEO INTERPORCHe emphasized that "it will soon be 20 years since the United States authorized the import of the first ham from Spain, and producers are convinced of the opportunity this country represents for them." The "Slices of Happiness" campaign will continue its promotion in the United States with activities such as #SpanishJamonWeekUS in October, helping to position Spanish ham as a leading product in the North American gastronomic market.
