El Spanish transactional market has registered in the first two months of the year 308 mergers and acquisitions, between announced and closed, for an aggregate amount of EUR 11.955m, according to the monthly report of Ttr. These figures represent an increase of 1,65% in the number of operations and 0,31% in their amount compared to the same period in 2016.
For its part, in February 2017 a total of 152 transactions were recorded, of which 58 recorded a combined amount of EUR 6.660m, which implies decreases of 11,63% in the number of operations and 21,98% in their amount, compared to February of last year.
In sectoral terms, the real estate is the most active of the month, with a total of 34 transactions, followed by technological, with 22, and the Internet, with 15.
Cross-border scope
As regards the cross-border market in 2017, Spanish companies have chosen as their main investment destinations Portugal, with 11 operations; to United States, with seven transactions; already Türkiye, Switzerland and Mexico, with three operations in each one. In terms of amount, Türkiye is the country in which Spain has made a larger disbursement, with an approximate value of EUR 859m.
On the other hand, United States (21) France (8) and United Kingdom (8) are the countries that have made the greatest number of investments in Spain. By amount it stands out United States, with a value of EUR 1.343,77m.
February registers 20 private equity operations and 28 venture capital operations

Meanwhile, in the venture capital market 28 transactions have been carried out with an aggregate amount of EUR 311,74m, which corresponds to an increase of 22% in the number of operations and 1.273% in their amount.

Transaction of the month
