Foreign sales of living plant have shown a year-on-year increase of 12 %, adding a total of 483 millones de euros. Within this segment, the outdoor plant stands out especially, which has registered an increase of 17 %, reaching the 228 millones de euros. Likewise, the indoor plant has seen an increase in 5%, with sales worth 73 millones de euros. As for trees and shrubs, their export has also grown by 6%, standing at 94 millones de euros, according to statistics provided by the Customs and Excise Department and processed by FEPEX.
On the other hand, the main group after the living plant is the sector of the cut flower, whose exports have increased significantly 30 %, reaching the 68 millones de eurosAmong the most popular flowers are roses, with sales amounting to 12 millones de euros (an increase of 42 %) and carnations, with a figure close to 9 million (increase of 30 %).
Foliage has also had a positive performance, with exports totaling 43 million (+26%), while the international market for bulbs has experienced a slight fall of -5%, standing at 7,3 million.
This optimistic outlook for the Spanish flower sector underlines not only its ability to adapt to international demands but also its potential to continue growing in foreign markets.
