Tecnalia presents the future of AI-based industrial robotics to the European Parliament

Industrial Innovation

The European Parliament in Brussels hosted a pioneering technology showcase featuring 15 autonomous robots. Through the euROBIN consortium , the TECNALIA technology center is reinforcing the leadership of Basque and European industry in advanced manufacturing , presenting strategic solutions designed to address labor shortages and strengthen the international production network.

The TECNALIA research and development center participated in a prominent technological innovation summit held at the European Parliament in Brussels. At this high-profile continental forum, the operational capabilities of 15 robots equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) were showcased , an initiative framed within the euROBIN network (European Network of Centers of Excellence in Robotics). Through this participation, the organization highlighted the high level of Basque technological capabilities in robotics applied to industry and advanced manufacturing systems.

As a strategic player in the development of new industrial skills, TECNALIA contributes its extensive technical expertise in collaborative robotics, autonomous systems, and applied AI to this European ecosystem . Among the most disruptive solutions presented to European institutions are those aimed at addressing immediate socio-demographic and economic challenges. These pioneering technologies seek to mitigate the growing labor shortage resulting from population aging in developed countries, while substantially optimizing the safety and ergonomics of operators in production environments.

The Brussels meeting brought together top-level institutional representatives from the European Parliament and the European Commission, along with senior executives from companies in the industrial sector. During the day, key stakeholders addressed the policies and strategies needed to consolidate Europe's technological leadership vis-à-vis other global powers. They also analyzed ways to accelerate the real impact of these automation technologies on industrial competitiveness and social well-being.

Funded by the EU's Horizon Europe program , the euROBIN project stands as one of the largest transnational cooperation efforts in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. The initiative brings together 31 strategic partners from 14 European countries , connecting universities, companies, and research centers. Its founding purpose is to build a robust infrastructure for the exchange of knowledge, data, software , and experimental platforms. Ultimately, this network will facilitate technology transfer between machines and environments, accelerating the market entry of innovations that will redefine the commercial and operational dynamics of European industry.
