The Andalusian and Cajamar Chambers of Commerce are promoting cybersecurity in companies, highlighting the crucial role of people.

 

El Andalusian Council of Chambers of Commerce, member of the Andalusian node of the European Business Support Network EEN, and Cajamar Rural Bank joined forces in Seville to offer a specialized day on corporate cybersecurity. The event's main objective was to provide companies with tools and knowledge to prevent digital attacks and fraud, with a particular emphasis on the human factor as a key element in the security strategy.

 

The opening of the day was in charge of Mercedes Leon, managing director of the Andalusian chamber network, and Raúl Jesús Ortega, territorial director of Cajamar South and Extremadura. Both agreed on the growing importance of cybersecurity in the current business landscape, calling it a strategic factor for competitiveness of the companies.

 

Mercedes León highlighted the firm support from the Chambers of Commerce to SMEs on its path to improving cybersecurity. In this regard, he mentioned the success of the program Cybersecure SME, an initiative that in the last year benefited more than a hundred Andalusian SMEs with a budget of 580.000 euros. This program not only offered support, but also granted around thirty direct aids so that companies could strengthen their defenses against new technological threats.

 

For its part, Raúl Jesús Ortega, from Cajamar, reaffirmed the your entity's commitment to the fight against cybercrime, both internally and in supporting its clients, whether companies or individuals.

 

During the day, emphasis was placed on the need for entrepreneurs to maximize their cybersecurity levels to mitigate risks and vulnerabilities in the digital realm. A crucial point that was highlighted is that the employees are the epicenter of this strategy, it being essential that they rigorously apply preventive and safety processes.

 

The agenda included an opening lecture by Emilio del Águila Berenguel, who addressed the value and role of people in cybersecurity. Subsequently, a round table discussion moderated by Francisco Manuel Martínez, Commercial and Social Economy Director of Cajamar, where they shared success stories and strategies to effectively protect SMEs were discussed.

 

Daniel López, co-founder and CEO of Youforget.me, stressed the urgency of fostering digital skills between staff and business owners, focusing on the Data Protection as an essential guarantee for cybersecurity. Complementing this vision, Leonardo Bueno, Director of Economic Finance, Human Resources and General Services at the Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), emphasized the vital importance of the constant training and preparation of employees to forge a true cybersecurity culture within organizations.

 

Finally, Antonio Morillo and Juan José Molina, experts in Cybersecurity and Digital Fraud in Cajamar, highlighted the urgent need to establish strategic alliances in the joint fight against cyber threats. They stressed the importance of companies perceiving financial institutions as partners and allies in the shared goal of strengthening cybersecurity.

 

These sessions are part of the activities of the Andalusian node of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), the largest SME support network promoted by the European Commission, in which the Andalusian Council of Chambers actively participates. This network focuses on improve business competitiveness, an area in which cybersecurity has taken on a leading role.
