The State delegate in the Free Trade Zone of Cádiz, Fran González, accompanied by the director of Business Promotion and Foreign Trade, Rocío García-Delgado, has participated in Uruguay in the multi-sector direct trade mission promoted by extend, the entity for the promotion of foreign trade and the internationalization of Andalusian companies of the Junta de Andalucía.

The presence of the Free Zone in Uruguay has consisted of two days of work, which has included a visit to Zonamerica, a highly advanced technological business park that operates within the framework of the Free Zone Law of the country since 1990 and in which some 10.000 people work in the 350 companies that are installed there.

During the visit to Zonamérica, the representation of the Cádiz Free Trade Zone was able to confirm that it is the most important international business community in Uruguay, with highly innovative technology and features and services that offer quality and comfort to users and workers, creating an ideal ecosystem for the growth and consolidation of the companies located there.

In addition, the delegate of the Cádiz Free Zone has held meetings with representatives of the ICEX office in Uruguay, with the chambers of commerce, both Spanish and Uruguayan, and with representatives of different business associations in the country.

Fran González has held various commercial meetings in parallel, especially with logistics operators whose activity is closely linked to the international trade and who view Cádiz with interest as a gateway to European markets. In this context, meetings have been held with companies such as Maritime Service Line Uruguay, Gremial de Molinos Arroceros or the logistics operator Christophersen, in order to seek possible avenues of collaboration and promote investments in the province of Cádiz.

The delegate of the Free Zone has highlighted that the agenda developed in Uruguay “has been intense and very productive. We have had very good feelings during the two days of work in which we have maintained contacts with the administrations that are a reference in international trade in the country and with important logistics operators linked to foreign markets "who have expressed great interest in the privileged location of our province."

Fran González has also highlighted that for the Free Zone "collaboration with Extenda is essential, since it offers us the possibility of promoting our institution and seeking to attract possible new projects and investments for Cádiz."
