La  Game Developers Conference, recently held in San Francisco, brought together the leaders and creators of the industry video games, from independent studios to industry giants. In this context, the participation of Canary Islands, in collaboration with the ICEX Spain Export and Investments under the umbrella of «Games From Spain«, marks a milestone in the internationalization strategy of the Spanish audiovisual sector.

 

Proexca's agenda during GDC was packed with B2B meetings, where the potential of the Canary Islands as a growing video game hub was highlighted. La Canarian Special Zone (ZEC) The ZEC plays a crucial role in this appeal, offering tax incentives that have attracted the attention of international video game studios. "The ZEC is a differentiating factor," explained a ZEC spokesperson, "companies that establish themselves in the Canary Islands can benefit from low taxation, allowing them to reinvest in project development and job creation."
