The Chamber of Gran Canaria receives the award for the best Arbitration and Mediation initiative

Third edition of the Awards

The award recognizes the success of the "Chamber Mediation Service", which since its creation in 2021 has experienced exponential growth, resolving 52 proceedings with the participation of more than 28 mediators and 200 people.

La Official Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Services and Navigation of Gran Canaria has been awarded the prize for the best initiative of Arbitration and Mediation in the third edition of the Chambers Awards organized by the Chamber of Spain.

 

The award highlights the work carried out by the Chamber of Gran Canaria to promote mediation as an effective alternative to judicial means for the resolution of business conflicts. The initiative has had the support of the Judiciary and the Autonomous Government of the Canary Islands, which has made it possible to streamline processes and offer quality service to companies.

 

The president of the Chamber of Gran Canaria, Luis PadronPadrón emphasized that the initiative's success is based on collaboration between different stakeholders: "We have managed to get the Commercial Courts and, more recently, the Civil Courts to refer court-ordered mediations to our Chamber." Padrón encouraged other Chambers to follow Gran Canaria's example and embrace mediation as a tool to improve business competitiveness.

 

The Chamber Awards ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Industry and Tourism, Jordi HereuHereu highlighted "the vital contribution of the Chambers of Commerce, spread throughout the country, in defending trade and industry." He appealed to the Chambers' collaboration in promoting the country's reindustrialization and pointed out that "only together—businesses, the public sector, and institutions like the Chambers—can we meet the challenges of the future."

  • Chamber of Tarragona: Award for the best initiative in Digitalization.
  • Madrid Chamber: Award for the best initiative in Training.
  • Valencia Chamber: Award for the best initiative in Sustainability.
  • Chamber of A Coruña: Award for the best initiative in Entrepreneurship.
  • Teruel Chamber: Award for the best initiative in Social Leadership.

 

The Chambers Awards aim to recognize the work of the territorial Chambers in the economic and social development of Spain. The initiatives awarded in this edition are an example of the Chambers' commitment to companies and society.
