The meeting was co-chaired by Sabine Weyand, Director General for Trade at the European Commission, and Roberto Viola, Director General of Communications Networks, Content and Technology, on behalf of the EU; while, representing the US, José Fernández, Undersecretary of State for Economic Growth, Energy and Environment; Marisa Lago, Undersecretary of Commerce for International Trade, and Cara Morrow, senior advisor to the U.S. Trade Representative
During the meeting, both parties assessed the progress of joint work in various TTC working groups. The discussions underlined the importance of continuing collaboration around the Artificial Intelligence and to increase efforts to support the deployment of secure digital infrastructures, including submarine cables. Cooperation on technological standards was also encouraged, especially in plastics recycling and digital identity.

Another highlight was the progress in the Cooperation on secure supply chains, especially in the solar energy and semiconductor sectors. The EU and the US reiterated the importance of facilitating and promoting more sustainable and secure trade and investment flows through the Ocean. This includes the joint identification of possible areas of cooperation within the Initiative Transatlantic Sustainable Trade Organization (TIST), based on input from the transatlantic stakeholder community and the Trade and Labour Dialogue. Both sides also agreed to continue the exchange of best practices in investment review.
The meeting concluded by underlining the importance of maintaining strong transatlantic cooperation on trade and technology, while also agreeing on the need to take into account the views of stakeholders in the future steps of EU-US collaboration.
