Sales advance 31% to the record figure of 868 million
Eight Andalusian gourmet food and delicatessen companies participate in the Winter Fancy Food fair, the most important on the West Coast of the United States.

La Junta de Andalucía has organized the participation of the Andalusian agri-food sector in the fair Winter Fancy Food with the aim of expanding its market in United States, since the exhibition stands as the most important of the West Coast of the country for gourmet and delicatessen offerings. With the latest data available, Andalusia leads food and beverage exports to the United States in 2022, with record sales worth 868 million euros between January and October, which represent more than a third of the Spanish invoice.
TRADEthrough extend, has organized the participation of eight Andalusian food and beverage companies in the FIAB Spanish Pavilion at Winter Fancy Food, an event that takes place from January 15 to 17 in Las Vegas and which brings together more than 1.400 exhibitors and 15.000 visitors every year. In this space they have had the opportunity to present their offer, offer tastings and contact clients, importers and distributors to increase their presence in the North American country. In addition, its products have been included both in the official catalog of the fair and in the online catalog of the FIAB Pavilion.
With this quote we try to reinforce the presence of Andalucía in a market where it is already the export leader, and in which it has increased its exports by 37% in the first ten months of 2022, reaching 868 million, its record figure for this period. A record that shows that, despite the difficulties caused by the tariff crisis, first, and then the health crisis, the export sector has known how to satisfy the important demand that exists in United States Andalusian food.
Precisely at this juncture, Extenda has accentuated its activity in the country, promoting in 2022 the holding of 120 actions aimed at facilitating access or the consolidation of Andalusia's food and beverage offering in the United States, in which 474 firms have participated. of the community, which are equivalent to 67% of the sector's regular exporters to the country (705).
The United States has established itself as the first non-European market in the Andalusian agri-food sector and sixth in the world, with 7,4% of sales, and is the one that is growing the most of the top ten, especially thanks to the rise in olive oil.
Within this programming, Fancy Food is a contest organized since 1954 by TSFA, the Specialty Food Association, in the United States. It takes place twice a year (Winter Fancy Food and Summer Fancy Food). In this edition, it has been the subsectors of olive oil, table olives, picos and sweets that have had a presence at the fair, through the offer of companies from Seville , the Oleosteppe and Wonkandy, Seville; Olives Torrent and Capricho Andaluz, from Córdoba; Guadalentín Oils, Bailén Gold Oils and Supremo Oils, from Jaén; and Horno La Gañaína, from Cádiz.
Extenda's participation in this fair is co-financed with funds from the European Union, charged to the FEDER Operational Program of Andalusia 2014-2020, endowed with a community contribution of 80%, or any other European Program capable of co-financing this action.
Record exports in 2022
Andalusia leads food and beverage exports to the United States in 2022, with sales worth 868 million euros between January and October, which represent more than a third of the Spanish invoice (2.456 million). This is its record figure for this period, thanks to a strong growth of 31% year-on-year, 3,1 points higher than the average for Spain (27,9%).
With this, in addition, the United States establishes itself as the first non-European market in the Andalusian agri-food sector and sixth in the world, with 7,4% of sales, and is the one that is growing the most of the top ten, especially thanks to the rise in olive oil, the best-selling product Andalucía to the country, which experiences an increase of 38,4% to 502 million.
But not only are olive oil exports to the United States increasing, but sales of the first ten chapters exported are also increasing. Olive oil is followed by fruit and vegetable preparations, with 108 million, 12,4% of the total and an increase of 9,9%; fish, crustaceans and mollusks, with 36 million, 4,1% and an increase of 21,3%; cereal and flour preparations, with 27,8 million, 3,2%, which is the one that grew the most in the Top 10, with 89% more; and beverages, with 22,4 million, 2,6% and an increase of 0,7%.
Vegetable exports rose 48% in this period, to 18,6 million; while those of cereals increased by 19,4%, up to 14,3 million; those of various food preparations increased by 61% to 9 million; those of meat preparations 55% to 6,3 million; and those of meat 19,7% to 3,9 million.
Seville leads sales and Granada is the one that grows the most
Between January and October, it is Seville the province that leads the sales of food and beverages to United States, with a bill of 370 million, 43% of the total and an increase of 45% year-on-year. They are followed by Málaga, with 191 million, 22% and an increase of 52%; and Córdoba, with 172 million, 19,8% and an increase of 7,6%.
The one that increases its sales to the United States the most is Granada, rising 81% to 54 million, 6,2% of the total, placing it as fourth exporter. The second in growth is Almeria, where exports increase 79% to 10,1 million; and the third, Huelva, with another 10,1 million and a growth of 57%. In Cadiz, decreased 21,1% to 40 million; and in Jaén 27,5% to 21,8 million.
