Operations such as participation in international trade fairs, the shipment of commercial samples, or the transfer of professional equipment are fundamental to the internationalization strategy of many companies. However, inadequate management of these temporary movements of goods can lead to serious problems, such as the detention of goods at borders, operational delays, rejection of documentation, or difficulties in proving the correct re-importation of assets, with the consequent economic implications.
To mitigate these risks, there is the ATA Carnet , an international customs document that acts as a "passport for goods ." Its correct use allows companies to temporarily move goods to other countries without having to pay import duties and taxes or deposit certain guarantees at each customs office, provided that the goods are returned within the established timeframe.
Key points of the workshop: from regulations to digitization
The conference, entitled "ATA Carnet 360º: Regulations, Errors, and Digitalization in Foreign Trade," comes at a key moment of transition. From June 1, 2026, the digital format eATA It is already operational in the 27 countries of the Unión Europea, as well as in Reino Unido, Noruega y SuizaDuring the current adaptation period, both formats, paper and digital, will coexist while new customs administrations are progressively added to the system.
The workshop is designed to help participants identify when it is appropriate to use an ATA Carnet, master the application and usage procedure, and, above all, anticipate the most common errors. The program is aimed at foreign trade, logistics, trade fair and event managers, as well as customs brokers and exporting SMEs.
