The Monte Nevado Ham Campus opens its doors for an immersive day exploring the ham-making tradition.

 

El Monte Nevado Ham Campus, the only center in the world dedicated to training and promoting the culture of cured ham, will hold an open house this Saturday, August 23rd. The event, which will run from 10:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. and from 17:00 p.m. to 21:00 p.m., will offer the public a free, immersive experience exploring the history and secrets of one of the greatest icons of Spanish gastronomy.

 

Located in Carbonero el Mayor, less than 20 minutes away Segovia, the campus is part of the most awarded ham house by the prestigious Food Awards of SpainVisitors can freely tour the facilities and discover the traditional curing process, as well as stroll through the NAOS, its natural cellar, where thousands of pieces of ham hang from the ceiling, creating a unique atmosphere.

 

The day will culminate with a tasting of its star products, award-winning in the 2025 Spanish Food Awards from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and FoodAttendees will have the opportunity to try Serrano 24 and Bellota 100% Iberian ham, and observe the art of knife carving up close.

 

These awards are the result of Monte Nevado's constant dedication and artisanal excellence. The company has been recognized in both categories of the competition: "Best Serrano Ham or other Recognized Quality Designations" and "Best Iberian Acorn-Fed Ham", which consolidates its leadership in the sector and its commitment to spreading ham culture globally.
