The Port of Barcelona leads the future of logistics at SIL 2025

 

Under the slogan "A port community committed to the future", the Port promises to be an epicenter of knowledge and development during the fair, which is held from June 18 to 20 at the venue Montjuïc at Fira de Barcelona (Palace 8, stand D466).

 

The Port's stand will become a key meeting point for professionals and companies, offering an intense program of activities that highlight its role as a driving force for change in logistics. The conferences and roundtable discussions, held on June 18 and 19, will address crucial topics for the future of the sector.

Featured Agenda: Trade, Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence

 

Among the most anticipated sessions, there is an in-depth analysis on international trade, where experts from ACCIÓ and the Port of Barcelona will examine the challenges and opportunities for exporters and importers in a dynamic global environment.

 

Cybersecurity will also take center stage with a roundtable entitled “Security and cyberattacks: a challenge for everyone.” Institutional representatives and specialized companies such as Ackcent and GMV They will discuss cyber risks in the port sector, presenting the new IAPH guidelines for digital resilience and the Puertos del Estado initiative to monitor cyberattacks on Spanish terminals.

 

In addition, the Port will highlight its leadership in the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technology platforms. A dedicated session, featuring companies such as CMA-CGM and technology providers, will showcase how these tools are redefining logistics processes inside and outside ports.

Commitment to Sustainability and the Blue Economy

 

The Port of Barcelona's programming at SIL 2025 extends to other disruptive initiatives, including roundtables on innovative commercial proposals, presentations on the circular economy, and the renaturalization of the port. The deployment of the Nexigen Plan, an ambitious dock electrification project, and the hub will be presented BlueTechPort, dedicated to boosting the blue economy.

 

The stand will also host the presentation of the results of the Positive Impact initiative, which underscores the Port Community's commitment to environmental and social sustainability.

 

Second Anniversary of the BCN Port Innovation Foundation

 

The closing of SIL 2025, on Friday, June 20, will coincide with the celebration of the second anniversary of the BCN Port Innovation FoundationThe event will take place at the CaixaForum and will commemorate the achievements of this private foundation, promoted by the Port of Barcelona together with Ackcent and Aggity. Its mission is to transform the maritime-port sector into a leading smart hub through knowledge, technological innovation, and commitment to society and the environment. Business leaders, port sector representatives, and sustainability experts are expected to attend.
