The meeting was attended by Paola Garcia (karate) and Marco Plazuelo (rescue and lifeguard), two of the 102 athletes who will represent Spain. Plazuelo was chosen as the flag bearer at the opening ceremony, sharing this honor with the prominent karateka Maria Torres.
In addition to the athletes, the event brought together key figures in Spanish sport, including Jose Perurena, President of The World Games, and Juan Luis Soto, Chief of Staff of the Higher Sports Council. Representatives from the various national sports federations that will participate in this important multi-sport event also attended.
In a gesture of commitment, the COE, in collaboration with Joma, will provide official clothing and equipment to the entire delegation. This initiative underscores the COE's role in the development of national sport and its support for the athletes who will compete from August 7 to 17 in this highly significant international event.
