The report ICT Monitor reveals that, although the growth of the digital sector has slowed compared to 2022 and 2023, it remains remarkably robust. In nominal terms, the turnover of companies in the sector experienced an average growth of 8,9% throughout 2024.
The expectations of the Spanish businessmen The outlook for the first quarter of 2025 is positive, with two out of three companies anticipating continued growth. This optimism significantly exceeds that of their European counterparts.
However, job creation in the sector is showing a cooling trend, with an average annual growth of 3,3%. Despite this slowdown, the sector has seen a significant increase in the number of Social Security affiliates, approaching the historic figure of 500.000.
Antonio Rueda, director of the VASS Foundation and responsible for the TIC Monitor, stated: "While it is true that the incorporation of talent maintains an increasingly modest growth trend, the reality is that expansion does not stop. The sector has gone from 315 members in 2019 to an average of 468 during 2024. That's more than 153 new employees in five years.".
The digital services sector continues to be a fundamental pillar for the Spanish economy, driving innovation and job creation, and consolidating its position as a benchmark in the European landscape.
