Ten Valencian companies, with the support of Ivace+i Internacional , have showcased the best of their gastronomy at the 50th edition of Foodex Japan , the most important agri-food fair in Asia-Pacific . Olive oil, wine, truffles, and ham, among other products, are seeking to consolidate and expand their presence in the demanding Japanese market, which is showing a growing interest in the quality and authenticity of Spanish products.
From March 11 to 14, the Big Sight Tokyo exhibition center became the epicenter of the global agri-food sector, and the Valencian Community played a leading role. IVACE+I Internacional , the agency under the Ministry of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, coordinated the joint participation of ten Valencian companies at Foodex Japan 2025.
“At Ivace+i Internacional, we support and coordinate the presence of our companies at major international events. Foodex is a well-established and leading event in its field,” stated Ester Olivas , Director General of Entrepreneurship and Internationalization. “Our participation in trade fairs like Foodex and Gulfood in Dubai is essential for opening up new business opportunities for our companies.”
At Ivace+i International, we organize group participation in highly relevant international fairs for the agri-food sector, such as Foodex in Japan and Gulfood in Dubai.
The Spanish Pavilion , organized by the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX) , hosted 89 Spanish companies, ten of which were from the Valencian Community. Thanks to the support of the Ivace+i International office in Japan, the Valencian companies received valuable logistical and commercial support.
The Valencian products that dazzled at Foodex 2025 include a wide variety of delicacies: extra virgin olive oil, olives, wines with designation of origin, truffles and their derivatives, Serrano and Iberian ham, natural juices, healthy snacks, and innovative sweeteners.
“Participating in Foodex Japan gives us the opportunity to present our products to a highly qualified professional audience, establishing contacts with leading importers, distributors, and retailers in the sector,” explained one of the Valencian business owners present at the fair. “The Japanese market values the quality and authenticity of our products, and we see great potential for growth.”
" Japan is a market with 126 million inhabitants , and there is a great dependence on the import of agri-food products, which becomes a great opportunity for the Valencian Community," said Ester Olivas.
"Exports of agri-food products from the Valencian Community to Japan have experienced significant growth in recent years, reaching €62,55 million in 2024, representing a 5,39% increase compared to the previous year. Canned vegetables are the most exported product, with a remarkable increase of 56% in 2024, followed by beverages, meats, cocoa, and cocoa preparations," stated Ester Olivas.
The previous edition of Foodex Japan, held in 2024, featured 2.879 exhibiting companies and attracted 76.183 trade visitors. These figures illustrate the scale and importance of this event for the global agri-food sector.
