The goal is to break with the fragmented vision that has dominated the sector until now.

The need for a systemic approach to sectoral fragmentation

The forum arises from the need to abandon the traditional approach of analyzing infrastructure in isolation. The proposal of World Infrastructure Forum is treating them like a interconnected system and strategic for global stability, economic growth and decarbonizationThis comprehensive vision is crucial to addressing large-scale challenges, such as the fact that more than 2.000 billion people worldwide lack access to clean drinking water, 685 million lack electricity, and only half of the 4.700 billion urban dwellers have adequate access to public transportation.

The platform aims to connect key players who, until now, have operated in silos: academia, industry, the financial and technology sectors, multilateral organizations, and policymakers. The forum's management and organization fall to the Fundación Agustín de Betancourt (FAB), guaranteeing a neutral and high-level framework for debate.
