The Mexican multinational's commitment to the Community

The Minister of Finance, Arcadi España, attends the event of the First Probe Lowering of the new Data Center of the multinational KIO in Paterna.

The Minister of Finance and Economic Model, Arcadi Spain, has highlighted that the implementation of the KIO technology company in Paterna shows that the Valencia “has consolidated itself as a pole of attraction and innovation of multinationals and technology companies that are betting on our territory for their implementation because we are a land that generates trust, stability and opportunities.”

 

Arcadi Spain has made these statements after attending together with the general director of Information and Communications Technologies of the Generalitat, José Manuel García Duarte; the director of the commercial company Infraestructures i Serveis de Telecomunicacions i Certificació (ISTEC), Jolly John; the mayor of Paterna, John Anthony Sagredo, and the general director of KIO Spain, Javier Jarilla, to the act of Lowering the First Probe of the new Data Center of the Mexican multinational in the Paterna Tactical Polygon, which has an investment of more than 50 million euros.

 

In this sense, the person responsible for the Valencian finances explained that this project “will be key to guaranteeing the functioning of large companies and administrations of the future, with the secure use of data and, above all, it is done by betting on sustainability, including elements of commitment to the environment that minimize the impact.”

 

Likewise, Arcadi Spain has valued the commitment made by the Mexican multinational to the Community because it is highlighted that the public and private sectors “work to develop an ecosystem of innovative companies that boosts the economy, that bets on new technologies, the improvement of sustainability and promotes the creation of jobs”, and has stressed that the future “we do not build alone, we will build it only if we work together.”

 

“We are committed to an entrepreneurial Generalitat that firmly trusts in the transformation of the productive model, in the promotion of R&D&I, digitalization, and the competitiveness of our companies with the aim of achieving more employment opportunities, more growth, and greater well-being,” Arcadi España stressed.

 

In turn, the mayor of Paterna, Juan Antonio Sagredo, thanked "KIO's commitment to the city and for choosing it as a privileged enclave to continue growing in companies that face the challenges of data processing with the maximum guarantees of security, climate, connectivity and technological knowledge that Paterna offers."

 

Likewise, the general director of KIO Spain, Javier Jarilla, highlighted “decentralization as an added value and differentiator so that we have opted for Paterna as the headquarters for our new Data Center”, as well as the commitment “to green technology and the use of renewable energy in our Data Centers”.

 

El KIO's new Data Center in Spain will have 1.000 m2 of certified IT rooms with Tier IV safety level, the highest internationally, and will focus on energy efficiency, sustainability and environmental respect. Its business plan contemplates annual revenues of 100 million euros from 2030 and the creation of 35 highly qualified direct jobs is expected, as well as several hundred indirect ones.

 

In addition, it is the first Data Center in Spain to use 100% ecological refrigerants (CO2) in 100% of its critical cooling systems, as well as the first to use the properties of geothermal energy for its critical cooling systems.

KIO was founded in 2002 and has 40 state-of-the-art Data Centers with the highest security, density and availability, distributed in Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and Spain.
