TECNALIA, the largest technological research and development center in Southern Europe

 

In a meeting with the general manager of TECNALIA, Jesús ValeroThe counselor emphasized the importance of the technology transfer that these centers provide to companies, especially SMEs.

 

Jauregi, who held the meeting at the TECNALIA headquarters in the Gipuzkoa Technology ParkHe emphasized that "R&D&I becomes a guarantee of economic future when it is put at the service of the productive sector and generates quality employment, as is the case here." He also highlighted TECNALIA's work in strategic areas such as... smart manufacturing, renewable energy, sustainable mobility and artificial intelligence, where the center is considered a reference.

 

 

TECNALIA currently has a workforce of more than 1.520 people, of which 315 are doctors, totaling 137 million euros in revenue in the last fiscal year.

 

 

TECNALIA, the largest technological research and development center in Southern Europe, has demonstrated its commitment to industry by developing more than 4.600 technological solutions last year. These solutions address future challenges in areas such as hydrogen, quantum computing, cybersecurity, decarbonization, and the circular economy. With a workforce of more than 1.520 people, 315 of them with doctorates, and revenues of €137 million in the last fiscal year, TECNALIA has consolidated its position as the leading applied research center in Spain.

 

During the meeting, which was also attended by deputy ministers and directors of both organizations, Jauregi shared the Lehendakari's reflections. Imanol Pradales on the economic situation and the Basque Government's strategies in response to US tariff policy. TECNALIA reaffirmed its commitment to the Industry Plan, which focuses on increasing investment in R&D&I to consolidate sustainable technological leadership. The visit concluded with a tour of the center's Hydrogen Laboratory.
