The Port of Barcelona is committed to innovation at SIL 2024

Innovation as a driver of the future of the port sector

The Port program at this year's SIL includes sessions on railway services in France and the role of shipping companies in international trade, among other important aspects.

Innovation will be the central axis of the activities of the Port of Barcelona at this year's edition of the International Logistics Show (SIL), which will be held from June 5 to 7 at the Plaza Espanya at Fira de Barcelona. The Port, which will have a stand in Pavilion 8, has prepared a complete program of activities that includes presentations, round tables and workshops on various aspects related to innovation in the port sector.

 

The Port of Barcelona program in SIL 2024 will give special prominence to Innovation Day, which will be held on Thursday, June 6. During this day, the use and application of the drones in the port field, both for infrastructure management and planning and for automation processes.

 

In addition, other innovative initiatives will be presented such as training in artificial intelligence, the sandbox for maritime technology, the BlueTechPort in the Port of Barcelona and a pitching session for innovative projects with different sector specialists.

 

The Port of Barcelona, ​​which is a benchmark in innovation at an international level, constantly works to develop new technological solutions that improve the efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness of the sector.

 

The Port of Barcelona will also dedicate two sessions to environmental issues within the framework of SIL 2024. In these sessions, the calculation of emissions from the logistics chains of companies and tools to comply with environmental requirements, as well as the promotion of renewable energies in ports and maritime transport.

 

BCN Port Innovation Foundation: A year of promoting innovation

It should be noted that, within the framework of SIL, on Friday, June 7, it will be held in the auditorium of CaixaForum Barcelona the first anniversary event of the BCN Port Innovation Foundation. In this event, the journey of this entity promoted by the Port of Barcelona will be valued, which aims to transform the port sector with a new model of participation, collaborative and open, between the Port Community of Barcelona and the innovative ecosystem of Barcelona.
