The initiative has a strong focus on the sustainability and digitalizationThe parties have committed to promoting common projects for the carbon footprint reduction port activities and the development of green technologies. A key focus of cooperation is the development of offshore wind energy on the Atlantic coast, with the aim of making these ports European benchmarks in sustainable maritime transport.
The agreement was signed during the fair Agri Vrac, a specialized event for the agri-food industry organized by the Port of Bayonne. The meeting brought together professionals from the cereals, fertilizers, and animal nutrition sectors, as well as the associated supply chain, from southwest France and northern Spain. During the fair, crucial topics were discussed, such as multimodal logistics, industrial decarbonization and opportunities for a sustainable cross-border supply chain.
Platform Agri Vrac served as a connecting space for Logistics service providers, port operators and shipping agents with the region's agri-food industry, strengthening commercial ties and facilitating the search for solutions to the sector's challenges.
