The Region of Murcia increases its exports by 6%, reaching almost 5.000 million in sales

The exports of the Murcia In the first four months of the year they continue to grow, with an increase of 6 percent, compared to the same period last year. Sales abroad reached 4.885 million euros and place the Region as the fourth province with the highest sales abroad, after Barcelona, ​​Madrid and Valencia. 

 

By products, from January to April, the increases in fresh and frozen vegetables (12,96 percent), other unprocessed products (82,56 percent), food ingredients and additives (7,46 percent) and sugar and confectionery products (35,8 percent). Likewise, all economic sectors have had an increase in the number of exports in relation to the same period in 2022: agri-food products (5,1 percent), beverages (16,11 percent), consumer goods (12,37 percent) and industrial products and technology (5,27 percent). 

 

France and Germany They are the two countries that top the ranking of clients of regional products. Almost 1 percent more has been exported to France than in the same period of 2022 and Germany has had an increase of 12,33 percent. 

 

The United Kingdom has had a favorable evolution compared to the first four months of last year of almost 7%, despite the entry into force of Brexit and the complications that exporters are having

 

The number of companies that carried out export operations during the month of April was 1.792. The main destinations outside the European Union were Morocco, United Kingdom, United States, Brazil and China. The total amount of products sold to these destinations, between January and April, was 1.898 million euros.  

 

Regarding imports, the figure was 1.289 million euros, compared to 1.542 million euros in 2022. Thus, in the first four months of 2023, the figure has decreased by 10,8 percent, mainly due to the purchases of fuels and lubricants, the amount of which has decreased by 17,45 percent. The main countries from which this product has been imported were: Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Iraq and Colombia.  

 

Other imports from the Region during the first four months were chemicals, cereals and milling products, seeds and oilseed fruits, and sugar and confectionery. The country from which 54 percent of the cereals and milling products have been purchased during the January-April period has been Ukraine
