AgritechMurcia and INFO participate in a conference with representatives from Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic and Peru, to consolidate sales in South America.

Representatives of the regional agricultural technology platform AgritechMurcia and the Development Institute (INFO) participate these days in a conference on water management to show representatives of Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay, Dominican Republic and Peru the leadership and technological advances in irrigation of Murcian companies. The Region is a world leader and managed to increase its irrigation technology exports 18 percent, reaching 81 million euros.
The Minister of Business, Employment, Universities and Spokesperson, Miguelez Valley, who attended a meeting with the participants of the conference, indicated that “in agricultural technology the Region is a global benchmark, and among the main clients are markets as demanding as United States, Mexico, France, China and Egypt. INFO's support for a sector platform such as AgritechMurcia offers a very wide field of collaboration in foreign markets".
Miguélez trusted that “these technical conferences will serve to consolidate the presence of Murcian companies in South America, an incipient market but with great potential.”
The representatives of Peru They visited the Irrigation Community 'El Porvenir' in Mahoya (Abanilla). The country is one of those that offers the most growth capacity given the typology of its agriculture, very similar to that of the Region. Other countries like Dominican Republic, Colombia, Argentina and Paraguay They are also recipients of Murcian agricultural technology.
Regional exports of irrigation technology grew by 18 percent last year and reached 81 million euros
Of the Region's total exports in agricultural technology last year, the main ones were irrigation equipment, followed by crop protection, agricultural machinery and post-harvest machinery.
Throughout the year, INFO develops around twenty activities specifically dedicated to the promotion of agricultural technology in foreign markets, both within the framework of the Foreign Promotion Plan which runs together with the Chambers of Commerce of the Region, as in the support provided to the AgritechMurcia platform.
Agricultural technology brings together around 200 companies in the Region, which have a turnover of more than 1.000 million euros per year and employ around 3.500 workers, including subsectors such as remote irrigation control, fertigation, valves, automation, hydroponic crops, machinery and climate control, among others.
AgritechMurcia is an agricultural technology platform made up of around twenty companies in the sector and endorsed by organizations such as the INFO, research centers Imida and Cebas-Csic and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
