The Region of Murcia supports the presence of gourmet companies in the most prestigious agri-food event in New York

The Murcian firms enjoy wide recognition

The Summer Fancy Food Show is North America's largest specialty food and beverage event, showcasing a wide variety of innovative products.

Fifteen companies from the Murcia They present their gourmet products at the 'Summer Fancy Food Show' in New York, one of the most prestigious events for agri-food products and a showcase to attract new customers in the American market. Exporters in the Region have the support and financing of the Business Department, through the Development Institute (Info) and of the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.

The 'Summer Fancy Food Show' is the largest specialty food and beverage event in North America, which showcases a wide variety of innovative products. The United States continues to be the first non-EU partner of Spain, where Spanish exports have been growing between 8 and 9 percent annually.

Murcian firms, especially those in the agri-food sector, are very well positioned and have enjoyed wide recognition for decades in certain market niches such as, for example, wine, preserves and cheese, among other items.

 

Last year, a total of 848 companies in the Region of Murcia carried out commercial operations with the United States

 

 

In this 67th edition, which began last Sunday, a total of 11 companies participate with their own stand in the space subsidized by Info: Eurocaviar, Faroliva, Rubio Snacks, Agrucapers, Conservas Alguazas, Fruyper, Tarbal Foods, Cataliment, Aliminter, Ceratonia Plus and Conservas El Raal. Info's investment to finance its presence at the exhibition is made through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the framework of the Foreign Promotion Plan which is executed jointly with the chambers of commerce of Murcia, Cartagena and Lorca.

Additionally, the Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has its own stand where tastings will be held and cheeses with designation of origin will be exhibited, as well as wines from García Carrión, Parajes del Valle and Esencia Wines.

The main products exported last year from the Region of Murcia were food ingredients and additives, sugar and confectionery products, fuels and lubricants, and containers and packaging. By Spanish autonomous communities, the Region of Murcia was the seventh exporter to this country, with a market share of 3,35.
