On October 25, 2024, the territorial delegate of the Xunta in Ferrol, Martina Aneiros, inaugurated the second edition of the conference "Ferrol in the world of the 21st century", focused on the relationships between the European Union, China and Latin America. The event, organized by the Galician Institute for International Analysis and Documentation (Igadi) in collaboration with the industrial campus of Ferrol y Casa Asia Centre-, seeks to promote dialogue on international issues.
During his speech, Aneiros emphasized the importance of creating spaces for dialogue to "share ideas, analyze global trends, and, above all, seek joint solutions to the challenges we face." He highlighted the role of companies as "direct actors in international affairs" and the work of IGAPE in the creation of a network of business antennas that favour the opening of paths for the Galician economy in the international arena.
Furthermore, Aneiros highlighted Ferrol's long-standing international focus, linked to its naval and port character, emphasizing that this vision is especially relevant in the current context of "global interconnections" that require an understanding of the dynamics between the world's major regions. In closing, he thanked IGADI for promoting reflection on international issues from a Galician perspective.
