Tourism Ministers from twenty countries will meet at the Future of Tourism World Summit

More than 150 international speakers

The objective of the Future of Tourism World Summit is to find solutions to the challenges posed by tourism worldwide after covid-19, and to develop collaboration systems so that the crisis becomes an opportunity for shared progress.

Ministers of tourism and secretaries of state from twenty countries, businessmen, mayors, representatives of international organizations and more than 150 international speakers will participate in the world summit Future of Tourism World Summit, which will be held in hybrid format on October 26 and 27 at the Llotja de Mar House in Barcelona.

The summit is promoted and organized by the Advanced Leadership Foundation, the INCYDE Foundation Plans Spanish Chambers of Commerce and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (OMT) with the support of the Barcelona City Council, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Barcelona Free Trade Zone Consortium (CZFB).

The world summit will culminate with the Barcelona Call for Action, a commitment that will be an international reference to advance towards ethical and sustainable tourism

 

After the opening day, the congress will begin with a ministerial debate promoted by the OMT, in which tourism ministers and secretaries of state from around twenty countries will participate. The meeting will be chaired by the general secretary of the UNWTO, Zurab Pololikashvili, and it will address the future of tourism for the population, the planet and economic growth.

The purpose of Future of Tourism World Summit is to find solutions to the challenges posed by tourism worldwide after covid-19, develop collaboration systems so that the crisis becomes an opportunity for shared progress and contribute to the global economic reactivation of the sector, responsible for almost 11 % of global GDP but has been severely affected by pandemic restrictions. The congress will culminate with the so-called 'Barcelona Call to Action for the Future of Tourism', a document that will be an international reference to move towards a new, more innovative, ethical and sustainable tourism model.
