exports from the Valencian Community have reached a value of 3.181 million euros in the month of July, which represents an increase of 6,4% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data provided by the Territorial Directorate of Commerce of the Valencian Community, dependent on the Secretary of State for Commerce.
The Minister of Innovation, Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Nuria Montes, stressed the importance of continuing to support the Capabilities of the region's companies, highlighting the unstable environment in which they operate. "Companies continue to operate in an unstable environment. It is necessary to expand our support and influence the development of programs and measures that allow companies to overcome moments of uncertainty with less difficulty," said Montes.
The sectors with the greatest positive contribution during July were: food, chemicals, non-chemical semi-manufactured products and energy products. Regarding the provincial analysis, Valencia exported products worth 1.706,4 million euros (+3,5%), Castellon reached 857,2 million euros (+10,6%), and Alicante recorded 617,5 million euros in exports (+8,9%).
However, the cumulative balance for the period January-July 2024 shows a slight drop of 2,2% in exports, with a total value of 22.569,9 million euros. Despite this decline, the trade balance of the Comunitat maintains a surplus of 1.780,7 million euros, with a coverage rate of 108%, representing 9,9% of the total exported by Spain.
Among the most notable sectors of the year, the food and beverage sector registered an increase of 8,4%, while chemical and energy products grew by 2,3% and 6,9% respectively, consolidating their relevance in the Valencian foreign trade.
