Key point for the development of the Algeciras-Zaragoza Railway Highway
Adif has awarded the company CSP Iberian Zaragoza Rail the lease contract for facilities in the Zaragoza-Plaza Merchandise Logistics Center, for an amount close to 3 million euros.

These spaces, with a total area of 72.545 m2, will be used for the development of freight and train logistics services in this strategic enclave, with which intermodal transport will be promoted in the northeast of the peninsula.
The contract is valid for 6 years, starting August 1, and may be extended for a maximum of 3 years. Likewise, the execution of a minimum initial investment of 1,5 million euros in the first two years has been established.

Integrated into the strategic network of intermodal terminals promoted by Adif, it is key to the development of the future Algeciras-Zaragoza Railway Highway.
Loading and unloading and other logistics services
The winning company will provide loading and unloading services for railway highway transport semi-trailers that arrive or leave the goods terminal. It will also offer services associated with train logistics, such as maneuvers with or without a locomotive and the dispensing of fuel to railway vehicles.
Likewise, it will provide freight logistics services, such as the handling of UTI (movement of UTI from wagon to truck, from truck to wagon and from truck to truck), storage of UTI (except for dangerous goods), installation for refrigerated containers , cleaning and repair of ICUs, inspection, customs services, management and/or contracting of haulage, weighing of containers, commercial billing of trains and their ICUs, among others.
The intermodal cargo terminal has an area of 66.535 m2. Additionally, 5.585 m2 are allocated to a waiting area and truck access control; 410 m2 to a warehouse for the maintenance of mobile cranes and 15 m2 to a fixed point module for fuel dispensing.

290.000 m2 for the development of logistics activities
Located 15 km from Zaragoza, next to the Zaragoza airport and the Plaza industrial estate, the largest in Europe, it has direct access via the highway A-2 Madrid-Zaragoza.
The Zaragoza-Plaza terminal has 16 electrified tracks of 750 m for train processing; 290.000 m2 for the future development of logistics activities; loading and unloading area of 37.000 m2 for the modal exchange of goods, with five tracks for the processing of container trains of up to 750 m and another track of 600 m for conventional goods trains; two buildings for commercial office use and heavy parking for trucks and semi-trailers.
In addition, it has a 40-ton gantry crane, two 45-ton mobile cranes and two shunting locomotives, with a loading/unloading capacity of 150.000 UTIs/Year and 3.300 TEUs of storage, in addition to endowment services, such as access control. , perimeter enclosure, lighting, fire-fighting network and remote surveillance.
