The company will invest in two years, more than one and a half million euros, largely contributed by the SME Instrument Program, within the Research and Innovation Framework of the European Union, Horizon 2020.

DNA Mobile Solutions, a leading Asturian emerging company in innovation and applications oriented towards mobility and the Internet of Things (IoT), has been recognized by the European Union (EU) as the most cutting-edge technology company to comprehensively manage solutions for more efficient and safer driving in large road transport fleets of people and goods.

 

Within the EU Framework Program for Research and Innovation is found 'Instrument SME', which can finance everything from the evaluation of the concept and its viability to the development, demonstration and replication in the market and even reaching support for commercialization with help services to make the exploitation of the results profitable. Through this business support tool, DNA Mobile Solutions will benefit from 1,16 million euros in non-refundable aid to develop the technical scalability and global expansion of its business.

 

This is a recognition for companies that, based on the R&D&I and constant improvement, they offer society solutions with a real impact, on issues as important as the environment, road safety or cost optimization. “Since the execution of what was Phase 1 of the SME Instrument for the implementation of the international business plan, and in achieving this Phase 2, we have worked with effort supported by the great human team behind DNA Mobile and our collaborators, with the purpose of obtaining a platform and method, Cated Box BLED™, with multiple benefits for large transport companies”, they explain Abel Rionda, David Martínez and Fernando Aparicio, partners and managers of the company. “The key aspect of success is that Cated Box BLED™ Once implemented, it is incorporated into the day-to-day life of the different areas of the client company, from HR, operations or fleet, to quality or safety,” they say.

 

The company, with headquarters in Gijón and offices in Seville and Valencia, is already established mainly in Spanish territory, where its services are deployed, providing coverage to more than 2.000 drivers in municipal transport and services. Cated Box BLED™ Technology

 

Cated Box is a platform for monitoring driving in commercial vehicles, fully compatible with the standard protocols implemented by manufacturers, and incorporating other sensors if necessary. In addition, it offers a set of tools accessible as a cloud service that, through learning analytics systems, provides indicators and metrics that characterize driving style to provide automatic recommendations and improvement actions.

Another advantage of this disruptive technology is that it allows the intelligent and efficient management of sustainable urban mobility for smart cities of the future, thanks to state-of-the-art urban environmental monitoring: UrVAMM.

 

In this sense, it is worth highlighting its role in the city of Seville, where its application in the 400 urban service buses prevents the annual emission of 3.000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

 

International expantion

 

DNA Mobile Solutions is in a growth phase with the support of a network of independent international agents. In this process, it has had the support of regional and national instruments, as well as the Gijón Invierte fund managed by Torsa Capital.

 

Highlighting the national deployment in the total fleet of the urban transport company of Seville, TUSSAM, the company has been operating internationally in Morocco for a year, through the operator ALSA. It has also begun to develop its activity for expansion in certain regions of Europe and Latin America, Especially in Mexico.

 

Thanks to the recognition and support of the UE, the company will decisively accelerate its product industrialization processes and exit to international markets according to its business plan, meeting the demand of multiple operators interested in the solution.
