AEFA and Banco Sabadell join forces to promote the continuity of the Alicante family business and the planning of the generational change

The Family Business Association of the province of Alicante (AEFA) and Banco Sabadell They have signed a collaboration agreement aimed at promoting the continuity of the Alicante family business and favoring the planning of the generational change in these business organizations, which in the province represent more than 90% of the business fabric. Before the signing, the AEFA Board of Directors at the headquarters of Bank Sabadell.  

Within the agreement, the organization of training activities is contemplated so that family entrepreneurs can strengthen their preparation in order to deal with business management and the business succession process effectively. The signing ceremony was attended by the president of AEFA, Maite Antón, and the Deputy General Director and Eastern Territorial Director of Sabadell Bank, Fernando Canós.

The president of AEFA has stressed “the importance of supporting family businesses in this province as engines and guarantors of our economy. Thanks to these companies, thousands of jobs are generated in our province and they contribute to the conservation of our state of well-being.” For this, Antón wanted to thank “Banco Sabadell's commitment to family businesses in the province of Alicante through this new agreement.”

For his part, the Deputy General Director and Eastern Territorial Director of Banco Sabadell has highlighted that “it is crucial to convey to society the importance of family businesses as representatives and defenders of their specific interests before institutions, social agents and other groups. Banco Sabadell, with the help of the Family Business Association of the province of Alicante (AEFA), will continue to work actively and firmly to help and accompany these business organizations in the search for greater competitiveness to grow, to innovate and to differentiate".

AEFA was established in 1995 thanks to the initiative of a group made up of 32 family businessmen from the province of Alicante. It was the first association of family businesses to be created in Spain following the example of the National Family Business Institute, which was created two years earlier. Its main objectives include defending the interests of family businesses and achieving their continuity. Currently, the entity has almost two hundred members.

During the day, the AEFA Board of Directors at the headquarters of Banco Sabadell. After this meeting, attendees met with representatives of Banco Sabadell to exchange information about the current economic situation in the country and how it is affecting, in particular, the family business in the province of Alicante. Likewise, the economic perspectives contemplated for the medium and long term in Spain.
