Advice, exchange and transfer of knowledge of the Spanish railway sector will be facilitated and promoted with the aim of collaborating in the Railway Infrastructure plans of the Central American region.
Last May 21, it was celebrated in Madrid a meeting between representatives of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), with its Executive President, Dante Mossi and Mafex, led by his President, Victor Ruíz, accompanied by a business delegation of Spanish railway companies, where a collaboration agreement was signed between both entities for cooperation and support in railway matters. In this way, the advice, exchange and transfer of knowledge of the Spanish railway sector will be facilitated and promoted, given extensive knowledge of the Spanish railway industry and because it is a global reference, with the aim of collaborating in the Railway Infrastructure plans of the region of Central America.
Agreement objectives
Within the infrastructure development plans, the region of Central America aims, through the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, promote the development of Central American countries through efficient rail transportation.
The purpose of the agreement is to establish general lines of collaboration between the Association and the Bank to promote and support the Capabilities of the Spanish railway sector, as well as, supporting and promoting collaboration in terms of innovation and competitive improvement between companies associated with Mafex, the association itself and both entities.
The volume of activity of the associated companies in Mafex, which brings together the most relevant and representative companies in the sector, reflects the importance of the Spanish railway sector and its export profile. The more than eighty associated companies invoiced more than 5.000 million euros for railway material and services last year and represent 75% of the railway sector's exports.
