Albares seals the alliance between the Cervantes Institute and Sichuan University in Beijing

 

During Their Majesties the King and Queen's State Visit to China, the Government of Spain has made significant progress in its bilateral relations with the signing of a total of ten cooperation agreements in key areas such as agriculture, economy, science, culture and education.

 

The commitment to cultural dissemination was evident with the signing of an agreement between the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Jose Manuel Albares Buenoand the president of Sichuan University. This pact seeks to promote the teaching, study and use of SpanishIn addition to promoting the dissemination of Spanish culture through exchange programs and direct collaboration between the Cervantes Institute and the aforementioned university.

 

Minister Albares' working day in Beijing was intense, reflecting the excellent state of bilateral relations. The Foreign Minister actively participated in the official reception and subsequent meeting of His Majesty King Felipe VI with the President of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping.

 

Subsequently, Albares attended high-level meetings with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Zhao Leiand with the Prime Minister of the Council of State, li qiangconsolidating the political dialogue agenda between both nations.

 

This signing of agreements, taking place in the Chinese capital, underscores the deep harmony between Madrid and Beijing, especially positive as the event coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Spain and ChinaA commemoration that began with the visit of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, last April, and which is complemented by the recent meeting between Minister Albares and his Chinese counterpart in Hangzhou in October.

 

The ten agreements signed during the state visit cover crucial areas for mutual development, including: Agriculture, Fisheries and Food; Economy and Trade; Science and Innovation and Culture and Education.

 

This joint diplomatic effort strengthens the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and lays the foundation for closer and more fruitful collaboration between Spain and China in the coming decades.
