The route will be operated with the aircraft Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner offering 27 fully lie-flat seats with direct aisle access in Business Class, 198 seats in Economy Class, Wi-Fi and personal onboard entertainment for all passengers.
From April 6th to May 6th, American Airlines will resume seasonal service from Barcelona El Prat Airport to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), respectively.
Additionally, starting May 6, American will also resume service between the Madrid Barajas Airport (MAD) and CharlotteThese seasonal services will be operated with the Airbus A330-200 offering 29 fully lie-flat seats with direct aisle access, 234 seats in Economy Class and personal entertainment for all passengers on board.

American Airlines operates services all year round from Barcelona to New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Miami International Airport (MIA). American operates flights year-round from Madrid to Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Miami, Philadelphia and New York-JFK.

American is the first airline to offer Premium Economy on direct flights to the United States from Spain. Customers seated in the new cabin will enjoy 21 leather seats with 38 inches of stretch, extendable head and footrests, on-demand personal entertainment systems and larger touchscreen monitors. International customers will also receive noise-cancelling headphones, personal cases and a meal service enhanced by complimentary wines, beers and spirits. Premium Economy customers will be able to check one bag at no additional cost.
