Andalusia leads export growth in Spain with an increase of 5,8%

 

Andalucía has recorded a significant increase in its exports during the first ten months of 2024, reaching a total of 33.577 millones de euros, which represents a year-on-year growth of 5,8%. This advance places the community as the third in sales within the Spanish territory and stands out as the only one among the five major exporters which is experiencing significant growth. In contrast, the national average is barely rising. 0,7 %.

 

The boost in Andalusian exports is mainly due to Aeronautic sector, which has seen its sales grow by 53 %, And olive oil, with an increase of 46 %The latter has reached its best historical record with sales worth 3.879 millones de euros.

 

Andalusia's good results abroad are also based on the market diversification, as its European strength is added to that reflected in other strategic destinations that allow it to expand its markets and continue to increase its turnover. Thus, eight of the top 10 destination countries increased their registrations, with two non-European countries among the three that grew the most.

 

Belgium (10th) is the country where sales have increased the most, by 48%, up to 1.086 million euros (3,2%). Next in growth are China (9th), with 25,4% more than January-October 2023, to reach 1.129 million (3,3% of the total), and Morocco (7th), with an increase of 17,7%, reaching 1.661 million (5% of the total).

 

The United States is consolidated as the main non-European destination and fifth in the world for Andalusian exports, with sales worth 2.701 billion euros

 

 

Even so, the major EU countries are the main destinations for Andalusia's sales. The world's leading destination is Germany, with a growth of 15,5% and a bill of 3.848 billion (11,4% of the total). Next in line is France, with 3.617 billion (10,8%) and an increase of 6,9%; Italy, with 8,7% more, reaching 3.077 billion (9,2%), and Portugal (4th), with an increase of 0,6%, reaching 2.983 billion (8,9%).

 

The United States consolidates its position as the main non-European destination and fifth in the world for Andalusian exports, with sales worth 2.701 million euros (8% of the total), and a slight decrease of 0,6%. In sixth place is the United Kingdom, with exports reaching 1.888 million euros (5,6%) and an increase of 5,1%. After MoroccoIn eighth place are the Netherlands, with 1.375 billion euros (4,1%), a decrease of 3%. The ranking of the top 10 destinations is closed by China and Belgium, with the notable increases noted above.

 

Seville It stands out as the province that contributes the most to export growth both at regional and national level. In provincial terms, Seville leads with record sales of 8.292 millones de euros, representing almost a quarter of the Andalusian total. They are followed by Huelva and Cádiz with figures close to 6.300 million each.
